Kalado clears air on Panama tear-gas incident

Kalado-2016

A Panama concert which dancehall artiste Kalado had performed over the weekend was teargassed by security personnel.

According to the entertainer, he had just completed his 40-minute set on ‘Kalado in Concert’ held in Panama City, last Saturday.

“It was a really good show… and after my performance, I started handing out fliers and the crowd got a bit unruly as everyone was pushing to get a flier or CD. The gas was used as a security measure to protect me, but I got a bit of it,” he told Jamaica Observer.

“There wasn’t any harm done. The burning of my eyes and sneezing disappeared shortly after I washed my face … my health is great,” he continued.

Kalado, who is now back in the island, is in the process of shooting the videos for his singles Money Comes Evil and Sex Compliment. Both are being directed by Jay Dash.

Given name Eton Gordon, Kalado was born in the Maxfield Park area of St Andrew, but moved to Clarendon at the age of five. He graduated from Edwin Allen High School in that parish. The 30-year-old is a member of deejay Bounty Killer’s Alliance Next Generation.

The two collaborated on the 2012 single When She Wine, which was followed by Nuh Gyal Caan Tear Mi and Whole Night. The following year, Kalado got his breakthrough with the hit singles Make Me Feel, Good Good Bring Life and Body Nuh Dead.
