Dane-X came from a small town community in the parish of Clarendon. He attended the Edwin Allen high School, then went on to attend the Knox Community College, where he majored in business management. While attending college at the age of 17, he developed a very strong love and interest in being a part of the dancehall music fraternity, by listening on a regular basis, to his father’s mix tape collection by various sound systems. In that time period, he wanted to become a music composer, song writer, studio engineer and producer. He wanted to create market and propel Jamaican music to its ultimate altitude, to be one of the leading genres in world music. He had taken on to his high school nickname X-zyle, which stick after been created by him who imagined himself as being a character in the Mortal Kombat video game series. Up on his move and relocation to Kingston at the age of 19, wrote and recorded several songs under the name X-zyle, none of which were published but however, made it onto several popular sound selectors mix tapes and cds. Dane-X who was under the stage name X-zyle at the time, met and worked with the now Mixing Lab Recording Studio engineer, Hasani “Snysh” Williams in may 2007, where he was doing only his third but first professional recording. After working with Snysh for the first time, both became best of friends and continued to work on many other combined projects. It was not until November of 2010 and the stage name change to his now and current alias Dane-X, before he and Snysh released and published his first radio ready single 119 Emergency, which created a huge buzz in the dancehall air waves. He then went on to release his second song entitled ‘please har’ which also featured Snysh and then a third song released and produced by Ryan Nellz entitled ‘sex approach.’ Plans on been sign by a major record label is what he is working towards in his dream to become an internationally established recording artiste and producer much like his icon, international recording artiste and producer Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes. Hope one day to become a dominant figure and a household name in the dancehall fraternity.
